“The Stones of Florence” (1959): 60 Years Later”

A conference organized by Perri Klass and Larry Wolff, co-directors of NYU Florence, held at Harold Acton’s Villa La Pietra, a place that Mary McCarthy visited while working on her book. “The Stones of Florence” (1959): 60 Years Later” brought together scholars, critics, family and friends of Mary McCarthy including Gaia Servadio, Thomas Mallon, and Reuel Wilson to take stock of McCarthy’s mid-century approach to the art, history and character of Florence.
